Body wash/shower gel is one of the first products in the bathroom you should be investigating because it’s used by all the family every day and all over the body!
The aim of my #gonaturalfeb challenge is to inspire you with new products to try which may be a more natural option than you currently use and with less nasty ingredients. The issue with some chemical ingredients used in products is how they might react with the skin and when absorbed by the skin. So few of the chemicals used have been tested, some are being questioned, but another issue is there is little research on how they react with the other ingredients? There are some that are just a big NO NO.
Here I have selected body washes that don’t have the major nasties of concern and you can try them for under $20 or close to. There is something for everyone in the family and most of them are Australian brands or companies worth supporting.
Be aware that natural body washes may not lather up as much – you will get used to it. Also we tend to use more body wash than we really need (especially kids) so encourage everyone to use a little less so then your product will last longer!
My below suggestions ar some of my families favourites…
EcoStore Body Wash (400ml) $9.49
New Zealand brand but one of the first natural brands that has become easily accessible via supermarkets and many other stores across Australia. They also have a babies range and one for sensitive skin. I like the Coconut and Vanilla. Pictured is the Rose & Cardarmon. Grab from your local Woolworths supermarket or most healthy lifestyle stores including Harris Farm.
Natural Instinct Body Wash (500ml) $11.99
This Australian brand features in my new mini-ebook because you can pick it up at Woolworths and it has an impressive list of whats not in it’s products. Good price point too!! Choose between Lemongrass & Gingko or Lavender & Rosehip. I am not personal a fan of lavender but am a huge rosehip fan!!
Organic Shop Shower Gel (280ml) $12.95
Hard to choose favourite fragrance (natural) as so many interesting mixes but this Mint & Lemongrass is one as is the Acai & Coffee Sports Gel. Australian owned company distributes this brand from Europe and it is Certified Organic and a great price. Mainly available online but will be appearing in retail stores in some states. Find out where here.
Dr Bronners Liquid Soap (Citrus) (237ml) $12.95
A multi-use liquid soap, lots of size bottles and fragrances (natural) to choose and an ethical company which has been around for years. Not Australian but couldn’t be missed from the list! I like Citrus but you could try their sample box to find your fave!
Larise Exhilarating Shower Gel (250ml) $13.95
So this is a new brand for me (exciting that I am on the same journey as you!) but I wanted to include because it’s an Australian brand using Australian bush ingredients which makes it a bit different from my other options (Australian Lemon Myrtle & Bush Lime Essential Oils!), it’s Certified Organic, as well as sitting under my $20 price criteria! They have a Mumma & Bubba range worth checking out too.
Eco Sonya Coconut Mint Body Wash (500ml) $21.95
My luxe option as costs a little bit more but love the story behind this Australian brand. Truthfully have not tried this body wash (I use their Eco Tan products) but I really want to – I love coconut!
808 Dude Shampoo and Body Wash (250ml) $14.95
Australian brand especially for boys. My son loves. Great that it’s a two in one! You might like to buy your boy the 808 Dude starter kit which includes a face wash my son also uses. It happens to be on sale HERE
Luv Ur Skin Body Wash (100ml) $13.50
A range developed by a young Australian especially for teens so this one will be a win if you have girls in the house! You can find her range at Priceline and nice to support her growing business. Go girl!!
EnviroCare Body & Hair Cleanser (1 ltr) $17.29
This is a a new find but had to include because I love that you can buy in bulk and refill bottles, less plastic wastage and better for the environment! More cost effective I would think and it’s also a two-in-one for body and hair.
Would love to know if you use these, decide to try them and what your favourite ones are!
