This month I share three very different products. My favourite concealer, a hair oil I have been using for years and a very affordable, all-natural Aussie moisturiser all the family can use.
My new discoveries include an eye cream from Big W, an exfoliator with a difference and tub of hair conditioner from Italy!
Oblepikha Siberica Oil Complex for Hair Ends $19.99
I wrote about my love for hair oil in last month’s Faves & Finds. Oblepikha Siberia Oil Complex for damaged hair ends is one oil I have been using for a few years because my hair is long and can get quite brittle at the ends.
I love the smell of this oil and it is lightweight so doesn’t weigh the hair down. I put it on my hair when wet before blow drying and I also use it on the ends when they just feel dry and in need of some love.
The pleasant fruity smell comes from the Altai Sea-Buckthorn, and it also contains Moroccan argan oil, both of which help to produce keratin making hair stronger and healthier. It also contains oils of Limonnik Nanai, White Siberian Flaxseeds and Pine Nuts to help retain the moisture in the hair structure.
This hair oil is something quite different from similar products we get here in Australia. It comes from the brand Natura Siberica, born out of Siberia where they grow the wild-harvested plants and herbs used in their products. Regular use of this hair oil improves hair end structure, resulting in hair that is visibly healthier, smoother and shinier.

Vegesorb (100g tube) $9.99
I have just finished this tube of Vegesorb and will be buying a big bottle next! My skin has been particularly dry over the last few weeks so I pulled this out of my drawer and it has worked so well on my elbows. I forgot how good this is and decided I had to feature!
Vegesorb is marketed as a natural alternative to sorbelene cream but in fact it is a really good all round moisturiser – or even skin wash.
It is made in Australia from plant extracts, almond and apricot oil and is very affordable -no fancy packaging, no offensive smell, soaks in well and great for all the family.
I love that on their website they explain why you don’t want to use sorbolene – the biggest selling skincare products in Australian pharmacies!
“Sorbolenes may appear to be great value-for-money, at only $3.95 for 100g, however many consumers do not realise the majority of sorbolenes are made from petrochemical by-products, such as mineral oils and paraffin, and are designed to act as barrier creams. Therefore, sorbolenes do not moisturise the skin, they only act as a barrier cream…Experts believe prolonged use of sorbolene may lead to the break-down of the skin’s normal barrier functions.”
They also provide a full PDF document listing every ingredients in their product explaining what it is, why is is used and where they source it from. More companies need to do this!!
Buy at pharmacies and health food stores such as Mr Vitamins and Go Vita.
Ere Perez Arnica Concealer $36.00
I love this Ere Perez arnica concealer. I find it not drying on my mature skin, it sinks in beautifully and conceals well. It also lasts a long time!
Ere Perez is a Sydney born brand now offering a beautiful array of make-up and skincare products – I really haven’t tried enough of them! Their philosophy is simple products made from powerful botanical ingredients to transform, nourish and create wellbeing.
I had been searching for while for a natural concealer that worked well on my dry mature skin and dark circles, and ever since I discovered this on Nourished Life nothing else is quite as good!
Arnica is a herbaceous plant that has been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years and is considered to have healing and anti-inflammatory properties. This concealer also contains cacao (cocoa) seed butter and sunflower seed oil.
I like the concealer in a little glass pot rather than a stick or wand, and it comes in 6 shades. I use chai. It may cost a bit more than other concealers but for how loing it lasts and the quality it is well worth it!
Eye Cream with Hyaluronic Acid and Caffeine
I recently discovered a brand I didn’t know about at Big W! It’s by nature from New Zealand. I was keen to try one of the products so chose an eye cream as my 100% Pure Coffee Bean Eye Cream, also with caffeine, was running out.
Caffeine is anti-inflammatory helping to improve the appearance of puffy eyes, wrinkles and dark circles. The other stand out ingredient in this eye cream is Hyaluronic Acid – a natural, highly active ingredient that fights dullness, fine lines, and uneven tone and texture caused by daily UV exposure, stress, and aging.
I thought this was a nice mix for mature skin like mine! I do love the coffee fragrance of the 100% Pure eye cream which the by nature Firming Eye Cream doesn’t have but so far am liking this eye cream too.
$9.99 from Big W or online.
A unique Powder Exfoliator
This isn’t a new discovery really – I just re-discovered it in the back of my cupboard! I love Black Chicken Remedies paste deodorant so bought this little bottle of Complexion Polish on sale a while ago.
It’s a bottle of powder containing Rice Powder, used by Japanese Geishas for centuries to smooth the skin; Argan Shell Powder, to gently exfoliate and dissolves impurities; Gotu Kola, used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years as a natural anti-inflammatory; and Myrrh Powder which helps in toning and refining the skin.
I have only just tried this and OMG! My face felt amazing after it. You only need a small amount in your hand, mixed with water then gently rubbed into the face. It feels quite strange as it’s like very fine sand but when I washed it off my face felt super smooth. Will be interesting to see how long this bottle lasts.
Nourished Life happen to have it on sale right now at 15% off !
A pot of conditioner
Davines is a high-end haircare brand from Italy founded on beauty, ethics and sustainability. They use ingredients of natural origin, generate their products with renewable energy and packaging is used with minimal environmental impact. So many reasons to support this brand!
I grabbed this Davines MELU Conditioner to try from my hairdresser. It’s especially for long and damaged hair. It smells divine. Will report back once the tub is empty!
$37.95 for 250ml from Atsi Hair Supplies and other haircare retailers.
