The ACO stamp of approval on beauty products gives you confidence that the ingredients have been checked and there are no nasties.
Australian Certified Organic (ACO) beauty brands and their products can be recognised by the green Bud logo stamped on product packaging.
All ingredients used in ACO beauty and skincare products are natural and effective, and aren’t tested on animals. They do not use any synthetic colouring agents, fragrances, ethoxylated ingredients, silicones, paraffin or petroleum.
This stamp of approval means the company and products have been through extensive checks and a long process to have the products certified. All the ingredients are from natural and organic sources and the manufacturing process is compliant with the ACO stringent regulations.
There are other International certifications like COSMOS and the USDA Organics, and there are also great natural and organic products without certifications, but my list below is focussed on beauty products approved by the ACO.
When beauty products aren’t certified you need to look closer at the ingredients label and be familiar with what you don’t want in the products you put on your skin.
It’s important to be aware that the beauty industry is unregulated. Apart from some general rules and a few banned ingredients, companies can use all sorts of ingredients that haven’t been tested individual or mixed together.
Take note of the words natural and organic which companies without certifications use on their labels and in marketing material. If you look closer the products may still contain nasty ingredients. Beware the marketing hype!
So on your next shop, look out for these Australian Certified Organic beauty brands knowing they are some of the healthiest options for your skin.
